By providing perspective in challenging deal rationale, we’ll help ensure that you’re aware of all options given available information, to confirm the course of action being considered and to highlight the underlying risks. Further, our public accounting and executive-level experience allow us to actively engage management in efficient, meaningful dialogue, and to incorporate the results thereof into a SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats). If such an analysis already exists, we’ll add our unique perspective. This provides the foundation for identifying viable candidates.

Understanding your motivations and business is integral to identifying a short list of candidates whose profiles offer the highest potential for value creation. This avoids the pitfalls of buying on price or pursuing a target that does not effectively match the client’s SWOT criteria.

Having confirmed the results of the SWOT analysis with you, we’ll apply the same methodology to existing candidates and others. Obtaining management’s buy-in enhances the consistency of communication and continuity of evaluation criteria throughout the process. After grading each candidate relative to SWOT compatibility, we’ll discuss results with you, as well as the pros and cons associated with each candidate. We’ll continue to work with your management team to ensure that any issues are addressed, to prioritize the remaining candidates and to develop strategies and tactics to engage the target.
